Newsletter June 2011
Semester 1 is nearly finished! Yes, its almost impossible to believe 2011 is near the halfway mark but here we are! Please take a moment to read through this newsletter.
HOLIDAYS
It’s time for a break before we get into Semester 2! We will break for holidays over the June School Holidays and run in line with the Queensland Public school system. This year the dates will be June 27- July 8. All lessons will be cancelled lessons through this period. This means your fee dates will be brought forward to allow for a refund. Makeups are not applicable through this period.
PARKING WHEN YOU COME TO YOUR LESSON
We have a lot of traffic flowing in and out of our place each week. Please remember there is ample parking along Murcot St. Please refrain from parking in the driveway as Guitar 1on1 shares its residency with others.
MAKEUPS
Please remember that with our expanding student base it can be difficult to finalize makeups as quick as we’d like to. These makeups are documented on your profile, so there’s no need for concern at all as we get to them as soon as can. Remember you can help keep makeups owed to you limited by doing your best to attend your lesson each week.
REPORT CARDS
Every semester we issue school age students report cards regarding their progress with Guitar 1on1. These reports are of benefit to the student as well as the parents so they are aware of how well their child is doing in 5 keys areas. Technique, Theory, Practice, Overall effort and general comments. These will be issued last week before we break for holidays

SHREDFEST 2011
I encourage you all to get along to the Shredfest Guitar festival from 1.00pm June 18th Saturday at Music Spot 129 Browns Plains Rd, Browns Plains. This is an all ages FREE event and I will be sharing the stage with some great guitarists like one of Brisbane’s greatest guitarists Simon Gardener.. It’s sure to be an excellent day and a great way for students to witness first hand how exciting it can be to share their playing with others! For more details, please let me know, otherwise see you there on the 18th!
