About Chris Timms
For over 20 years, Chris has been studying the guitar earnestly. Taking lessons from various guitar teachers at an early age and then moving into band projects, he has performed in many bands across many styles. From the age of 13 Chris has developed his craft in bands such as Fourth Axe (Heavy Metal), Mansfield State High School Stage Band (Jazz), ZFX (Progressive Instrumental Fusion Band), Spinning Silver (Progressive Metal) and MindsAlike (Hard Rock).
He’s performed covers with over 300 well known local bands such as Crywolf, Liquidate, Mantra, The Beam and many more in various venues across Queensland, N.S.W and Northern Territory. Highlights of his career include supporting The Screaming Jets and The Angels in 2007 and playing at well known venues in Brisbane like The Zoo, Living Room, Her Majestys Bar and The Hi-Fi Bar. He’s also played for up and coming artists in Brisbane like Stephen Carmichael. Not only has Chris performed such a large plethora of covers but he has written, performed and recorded a wide range of original material that has been received well with radio airplay on Australian radio stations like Triple J, CFM and 4ZZZ.

Chris has had over 5 years tuition experience, previously working for Forte School of Music, Music Education Centre and Music Makers; now he brings his knowledge and expertise into Managing/Teaching for Guitar 1on1! He remains active in the industry filling in for Brisbane based bands like Chester, Stifflers Mum and Chaos and Rapture. . He also plays occasionally in the City Church worship team.
And as if he isn’t alreading busy enough (!), Chris is currently in stages of recording his first solo album “The Journey Home” due for release May 27, 2011
